Happy Theater to you!
Happy Theater is a theatrical group that produces shows for different audiences, from children of 0 to 3 years old to adults.
Our shows are the combination of physical theater, object theater, storytelling, clowning and puppetry.
We believe in theater that BUILDS THE COMMUNITY, that is INNOVATIVE, CONCEPTUAL, VISUAL, PHYSICAL, MUSICAL, POETIC and THOUGHT PROVOKING. We want the audience to feel more alive after they see and participate in the experiences that we create. We are always looking into creating the dialog between the artists and the audience. Through this dialog we are hoping to fulfill the belief of Bertolt Brecht that, in making an audience take stock of the elements in a situation, the theater is serving the purpose of leading its audience to a better understanding of the society and so to learning in what ways that society was capable of change.
Education is a very important part of our mission. We create and teach unique theater arts classes and Arts Integration classes for children and adults in DC, VA, MD and all over US.
